Joining the Greater New Orleans Louisiana Republican Assembly (LRA)
The Louisiana First Standard signed up with this new Conservative group in the Greater New Orleans area
Hello all,
We here at the Louisiana First Standard have spent a fair bit of time criticizing both the state-level GOP (i.e. LAGOP) and local-level GOP (i.e. Jefferson Parish RPEC) here in Louisiana. The lack of transparency and limited voter outreach coming from Louisiana’s Republican party has concerned me for quite some time, so I have written several recent articles on The Hayride regarding these ongoing issues.
Here are three articles you can check out where I share my criticisms of the LAGOP and the Jefferson Parish GOP:
-“Why Won’t the LAGOP Publicize the LA Republican Caucus?”
-“RSCC and RPEC Elections Do Matter”
-“A Healthy Dose of Skepticism Toward the LAGOP”
The unfortunate reality is that the GOP will not save Louisiana. The current Establishment forces running the Louisiana GOP and the Jefferson Parish RPEC have not yet shown a willing to move away from the “insider”-nature of Louisiana Republican politics.
Therefore, grassroots conservatives and “Louisiana First” patriots must work together to fix the Republican party at the state and local level here in Louisiana. Our state needs grassroots activists who are willing to canvass voters at the precinct-level, convince conservative independents to register with the Republican party, and doorknock for “Louisiana First” political candidates.
Fortunately, I believe that I have found an organization that can fill this void in Louisiana Republican politics: the Louisiana Republican Assembly (LRA).
The LRA is federated under the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA). The NFRA is a grassroots conservative organization dedicated to improving the Republican party from within GOP. This political group seeks to move the Republican party in a more Conservative direction.
Here’s a section of NFRA’s mission statement on its website:
The NFRA is a grassroots organization committed to helping our state Republican Assemblies reform the Republican Party to achieve their goal of a constitutional government. If you believe in small government, lower taxes, free market capitalism, a strong defense, the right to life, and Constitutional values, then the NFRA is for you.
Our aim is to Reclaim the Republican Party for Conservatives, Reform the Party back to its Conservative Values, and Restore Republicans faith in the GOP. We don't need a third party. We need to return the Republican Party to its pro-Constitution roots.
The NFRA boasts over 20+ state chapters—including the newly-formed Louisiana state chapter.
The Louisiana Republican Assembly (LRA) met for the first time earlier this year and is planning on setting up local chapters throughout Louisiana—including in Baton Rouge and Greater New Orleans areas.
Check out the Bayou Ballot substack’s post to learn more about this LRA’s first meeting in January:
Last Saturday, the first local chapter of the Louisiana Republican Assembly (LRA) met and held its first meeting. In this meeting, the Greater New Orleans LRA chapter elected its executive board and allowed me to speak at the meeting. I mainly talked about the lingering issues within the LAGOP/Jefferson Parish RPEC and how we can solve these issues through organized grassroots activism.
If you want to learn more about the LRA, then I highly recommend that you check out the Greater New Orleans LRA’s Facebook page. The group should have a website up soon as well.
Overall, I am glad to see another grassroots conservative group rising up in South Louisiana, and I have high expectations for this group moving forward. That’s why we here at the Louisiana First Standard signed up as a member for this club. I plan to keep the audience posted on more updates coming from the LRA.
Anyways, thank you all for reading, and may Christ Jesus bless the state of Louisiana! Only Louisiana First!
