Louisiana: Which US Congressional District do you live in for 2024?
Find out which US Congressional district you'll be voting in for the 2024 election cycle
Hello all,
Welcome to the Louisiana First Standard! Election is almost upon us in Louisiana, so I wanted to bring up an important topic today regarding this November’s election.
As many of you may know already, Louisiana underwent Congressional redistricting earlier this year. Under the auspices of Governor Landry, the state legislature acceded to the demands of far-left judge Shelly Dick and created a 2nd minority-majority/Democratic-majority Congressional district.
Of course, this new Congressional district (#6) is heavily gerrymandered, so this district will not likely persist past the 2024 election cycle. However, the US Supreme Court ruled that Louisiana’s new Congressional map will be used for the 2024 cycle
Regardless, we have to deal with the hand that we’ve been dealt with politically, and we need to know WHICH congressional district you now live in.
Here’s the new 2024 Congressional district map for Louisiana:
Then, compare the new district layout to the old Congressional district map:
As you can tell, there have been some significant changes to Louisiana’s Congressional map.
The biggest change in the new map is the heavily-gerrymandered Congressional district 6— which runs all the way from East Baton Rouge parish to Caddo Parish in North Louisiana (roughly 200 miles in distance).
Before you go vote on November 5th, make sure to check out the Geaux Vote portal website. (https://voterportal.sos.la.gov/).
Once you are on this website, click on the “search by voter” button and fill out your voter information—name, birthday, and zip code.
The “my districts” link will show you which US Congressional district you live in. So, that’s how you can confirm which district you live in during this post-redistricting world.
Thank you all for reading, and may Christ Jesus bless the state of Louisiana! Only Louisiana First!
